Grignan-les-Adhémar "Cuvée Médicis" 2020
History :
In 1564, Count François de la Baume received in the Castle Charles IX and the Queen Mother Catherine de Medicis. This name remains for ever attached to the history of Suze, its Castle, his inhabitants, and it’s deserving representative of these heritage that our Cuvée was so baptized.
Grape varieties:
80 % Viognier, 10% Grenache White, 10 % Marsanne, Roussanne
Soil type:
Alluviums and pebbles
Vinification :
Destalking, maceration through skin contact followed by bladder pressing. Alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel vats, then racking in new oak barrels during 9 month for a long maturing on fine lees.
Tasting notes:
Shimmering gold, light yellow appearance, clear and bright. Intense aromas of vanilla, apricots and dried fruits. A cool and refreshing wine in the mouth, supple and crisp.
Ideal serving temperature :
8° to 10°
Serving suggestion :
Served best as an aperitif or to accompany sea fish, poultry in the cream, the chicken in morels.
